Fashion Week Sets Dates for Fall 2010
PHILADELPHIA (January 14, 2010) – CMK Entertainment announced today that Philadelphia will be a four-day event that will take place October 6-9, 2010 at the 23rd Street Armory (23rd Street between Market and Chestnut streets), Philadelphia Fashion Week will showcase students, streetwear and contemporary couture designers based locally and around the globe. Fashionistas also have the opportunity to shop with retailers on site between shows.
"Philadelphia Fashion Week is about showcasing high fashion styles in an approachable, accessible setting," said Kristie Bergey, a partner with CMK Entertainment. "We wanted this show to be about what we wear and what we buy in our city."
Charlie Smith of Lucca Photography; Michael Anderer, NY Sales Executive for DERELICTEinc and Kristie Bergey of the KB Experience together established CMK Entertainment, will produce Philadelphia Fashion Week. The trio expects at least 30 designers total to showcase spring looks for their inaugural event this fall.
“Rather than exclusively offering fashion, we’re seeking to make Philadelphia Fashion Week a cultural experience. Between fashion shows, guests will enjoy video and art installations, musical and dance performances, gourmet cuisine and have the ability to buy similar looks shown on the runway from local retailers available on site." CMK Entertainment Partner Michael Anderer said.
Open to the public, Philadelphia Fashion Week will offer general admission and VIP tickets in August online and by phone. Tickets will be available through advance purchase only. VIP admission will offer the exclusive opportunity to mingle with designers and experience fashion in an intimate setting.
